BetterJails is a Bukkit plugin that brings a practical detention system to any Minecraft server. Staff can create and manage several jail locations, imprison online or offline players, define a sentence duration, and optionally record a reason. Sentence time can count only while a prisoner is online, or continue while offline, according to the server configuration.

The plugin also supports custom release locations, jail and release commands, player information checks, and time adjustments. Optional integrations with Essentials and Vault can update jail status or player groups automatically.
