Minecraft server type Sponge

The Sponge Minecraft server type is built on the SpongeAPI, a modular plugin framework designed to provide a consistent environment across multiple versions. Sponge focuses on server side changes only, so players can join with the standard Minecraft client without extra mods when no Forge mods are used. Two main implementations exist, SpongeForge and SpongeVanilla, which share the same plugin ecosystem and configuration principles. With a modern event driven architecture, granular permission control and strong performance tuning options, Sponge is ideal for custom gameplay, minigames and advanced communities, and it is often the solution we highlight at BoxToPlay when a flexible Minecraft server is required.
