Ownership Improved, Better Pets! is a Java Edition datapack that gives tamed animals a more useful role in survival. It mainly upgrades wolves, while also improving cats and adding shared regeneration and revival mechanics for pets.

Wolves become stronger, faster, and more resistant, howl periodically at night, and can gain levels through special item offerings. Ender pearls provide speed, golden apples increase health, and diamonds grant resistance. Cats gain improved statistics, warn you about nearby hostile mobs, and can slow small creatures such as silverfish. Pets heal faster while sitting, especially on carpet, and some may leave a recoverable soul after death.
