House of Hell, a Minecraft map of dark choices

House of Hell is a horror adventure Minecraft map inspired by Steve Jackson’s Fighting Fantasy gamebook. Lost in a forest during an approaching storm, you enter an old, ruined mansion where every decision can alter your route, encounters, and chances of survival. Designed for Minecraft 1.8, it combines exploration, combat, atmosphere, and branching choices in a tense night time setting.

There is no natural health regeneration, so drinks and potions become essential, although some may be poisonous. A dedicated fear system tracks terrifying encounters, and reaching nine points means death by fright.
