Icea’s Variants

Icea’s Variants is a Java Edition data resource pack that expands Minecraft’s selection of cat and wolf appearances without changing the game’s core mechanics. It introduces additional custom variants, including distinctive coat colors and patterns, while keeping the familiar animals, behaviors, and taming experience intact.

The project combines a datapack with matching resource pack assets, and is designed for Minecraft versions 1.21.5 through 1.21.8. It also broadens wolf spawning to some biomes where they do not normally appear, adding variety to exploration and animal collecting. On a Minecraft server, our BoxToPlay setup makes this cosmetic enhancement an easy way to give shared worlds more personality.
