Death Knell is a lightweight Minecraft mod that refreshes the chat whenever a player dies. Instead of relying only on vanilla wording, it adds more than 35 messages, including alternate phrases for familiar causes and special lines linked to particular situations, weapons, or creatures.

Expect humorous, dramatic, and context sensitive announcements involving blazes, cave spiders, slimes, polar bears, drowned, guardians, falls, and drowning. Designed for both client and server use, Death Knell supports Fabric, Forge, Quilt, and NeoForge. On our Minecraft server at BoxToPlay, it gives every mishap a little more personality without changing survival mechanics.
