Boat Fall, Realistic Boat Fall Damage

Boat Fall is a Minecraft Java Edition mod that restores fall damage for boats and the passengers riding them. When a boat drops from a sufficient height, it can break on impact, while its occupants receive fall damage based on the fall distance. This corrects the unusual protection boats normally provide in Java Edition and makes steep descents, ramps, and accidental drops far more dangerous.

The mod works entirely on the server, so it suits multiplayer gameplay and single player worlds. Boats with chests also drop their inventory when destroyed. With BoxToPlay, we can add this focused mechanic to a Minecraft server for a more consistent transportation experience. It supports Fabric and Quilt across Minecraft versions 1.17.1 through 1.21.1.
