Placebo, a Technical Library for Minecraft Mods

Placebo is a Java Edition library mod created by Shadows of Fire. It gathers shared code and technical components used by several of the author’s other mods, helping them function consistently without duplicating the same systems. Placebo adds no standalone gameplay content: it does not introduce blocks, items, mobs, or dimensions, and by itself it simply registers as a mod.

It is mainly a dependency for modpacks and a modded Minecraft server running a supported Forge or NeoForge setup, on both client and server. At BoxToPlay, we consider it a practical foundation for compatible mod collections.
