Async is a server side optimization mod for Minecraft Java Edition that improves entity handling on demanding worlds. Instead of relying entirely on the main thread, it distributes suitable entity updates across several CPU cores and worker threads, helping a Minecraft server maintain smoother tick times when farms, villages, or crowded areas contain many mobs.
The mod supports Fabric, Quilt, and NeoForge, with optional controls for parallel mob spawning and experimental random ticks. Thread sensitive entities can remain synchronized, while configuration and statistics commands let administrators monitor activity and adjust thread usage. Async is still experimental and may cause compatibility issues, incorrect behavior, or crashes, so BoxToPlay recommends using it with a carefully tested modpack.
