Unstable Death Ban is a lightweight Paper plugin for a Java Edition Minecraft server running Minecraft 1.21.x. Inspired by UNSTABLE SMP, it adds a decisive hardcore or semi hardcore rule: when a player dies, the plugin kicks them so the death event displays correctly, then applies a permanent ban with a red ban message.
Nearby players hear a customizable death sound and can see the death message only within the configured distance, keeping distant chat uncluttered while making local deaths feel significant. Server owners can adjust ranges, sounds, and messages in config.yml. At BoxToPlay, we recommend it for SMP communities seeking tension, clarity, and meaningful consequences.
